Lady Death Strike is a Philadelphia-based women's club ultimate team that emphasizes growing as players and as a team, and cultivating Spirit of the Game. We have fun on the field and off, and we welcome women of all levels of ultimate experience committed to improving their skill sets, being supportive of others, and spending time bonding as a team.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

We would like to set clear expectations so people know what to expect when joining/playing with LDS and don't end up feeling hurt or disappointed. We realize that people are busy and have other commitments and go on vacations and stuff, but at the same time, it's not fair to those who come out to every practice to get equal or less playing time compared with someone who comes to 1 or 2 practices the entire season. We realize that you are giving up part of your time to come to practice, and we want that time to be spent in a positive and worthwhile way. That being said, it's not fun for those that come out if there are 8 or 10 people there. While team building and having fun is absolutely one of our goals, we're simply not going to get better as a team if we can't get people there, and improvement should DEFINITELY be another goal. We work hard to help women become better ultimate players, and practice will give us the chance to accomplish that.

We have 3 levels of players, and only you can decide where you fall.

GOLD: Ladies who make at least 75% of practices - get first dibs at tournaments, particularly in terms of playing time

SILVER: Ladies who make 50-75% of practices - come to tournaments, but if we have good numbers, won't get as much PT as gold players

BRONZE: Ladies who want to come to practice and an occasional tournament but won't get as much PT because of poor practice attendance (note that this category will still include skilled players if they do not show up to practice). Anyone who just wants to come out to practice to learn is welcome to do so, and will likely fall into this category.

We still don't want to be the kind of team that cuts people or turns people away, but we do want to be the kind of team that is fair to the people who show commitment to the team. This will help individual improvement as well as team improvement. Along with establishing a system like this, we also have to be cognizant that some people can't make a certain day of the week because of work or other important commitments. To remedy that, we will try to vary the weekend day (and possibly time) that practice is held in order to accommodate the largest number of Ladies each week. It also means that in order to do that, we will need a significant improvement in RSVPing to practice, and to sticking to that RSVP.
